The + moving + photograph I

text, frames, hand printed black and white photograph (10 x 15cm)

'(to find) an object that already exists/ replacing the screen' Witte Muur, Sphinx, Ghent (BE)

The text tells a continuous story in the first person perspective based on found images. The selection of images and their order was attained through performing an image search with the words “the + moving + photograph” in an online search engine. The normally so briefly viewed collection of images were subject to a prolonged and interpreting look, in an attempt at forming a new relation and to playfully seize them. The print functions as a materialized ‘souvenir’ in which part of the results are captured. The relation, friction or interplay between text and image as media that help build an understanding of reality is at the base of this work.
